Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer in Walsall to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern when the opportunities arise.
The role involves working various hours and being flexible to cover days, nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular patrols and recording these as per Corps and customer requirements.
- Brief all visitors and contractors, ensuring they sign in and out of the site.
- Record the entry and exit of deliveries on site, including processing paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
- Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours provision when applicable.
- Comply with site waste management procedures.
- Complete required documentation, including daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
- Familiarize yourself with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and other quality & safety documents, and advise the Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
- Maintain your own training records via the Corps Colleague Portal to keep skills up to date, particularly first aid and fire marshal training in line with legislative guidelines.
- Continuously apply SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism and always displaying your SIA licence.
- Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence – essential.
- Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good, effective working relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (e. g. Excel).
- Able to achieve EDBS and vetting to BS7858 Standards.
