We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Search Officer in Rugby to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad-hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions.
In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services. You will work 50hrs per week, Mon-Fri 0700-1700.
Responsibilities:- Opening and unlocking the heavy gate and managing access via the side entrance key.
- Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
- Working closely alongside the client, conducting staff searches on exit from the warehouse in line with the white glove process, and maintaining oversight of highly valuable merchandise for a corporate client.
- Must present smartly, remain alert at all times, demonstrate strong IT skills, and communicate confidently and professionally at all levels.
- Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
- Comply with site waste management procedures.
- Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site-specific reports.
- Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
- Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
- Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
- Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus are essential. A valid SIA Front-Line License is required, while a valid SIA CCTV License is desirable. Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels are necessary. Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure is important. Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel) are required. Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.
