Position

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer in Belfast to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad‑hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.

Work hours: 20 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays evenings, 17:30‑21:30.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
  • Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures
  • Ensure that patrols are carried out to the correct standards
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision if applicable
  • Comply with site waste management procedures
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports
  • Ensure familiarity with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve
  • Maintain personal training records via Corps Colleague Portal so that skills remain up to date, and in particular first aid and fire marshal training are in accordance with legislative guidelines
  • Continuously apply SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. The SIA licence must always be displayed
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed
