The GFS Commercial Finance Director partners with business leaders and the Revenue & Strategy Head to operationalize commercial priorities, strengthen pricing discipline, and improve contribution margin across GFS. This role provides clear, actionable insight on revenue performance, client profitability, pricing outcomes, and commercial execution risks. You will lead governance for the global annual fee increase program and support strategic commercial decisions across renewals, growth initiatives, and key accounts. The role works closely with Finance Business Partners, Sales & Markets, Operations, and Technology while maintaining clear boundaries from revenue assurance and billing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global annual fee increase program across GFS, including governance, calendar, business engagement, tracking, and benefits reporting.
- Partner with CFO, Revenue & Strategy, and business leaders to set annual fee increase targets, guardrails, and approval expectations.
- Drive accountability for identifying eligible clients, proposed uplifts, exceptions, approvals, and timely completion; report on misses, delays, and leakage.
- Collaborate with Commercial Finance Operations / Revenue Assurance to ensure approved fee changes are implemented accurately in systems and reflected in billing (while retaining ownership of outcomes and reporting).
- Translate agreed Revenue & Strategy priorities into executable plans with measurable actions; support performance reviews with insight, action tracking, and follow-through.
- Provide forward-looking analysis on revenue trends, product penetration, client growth, pricing quality, margin impact, and execution risks to support budget and reforecast cycles.
- Operate and evolve pricing governance across GFS, including pricing principles, approval routes, margin guardrails, and decision materials for strategic deals, renewals, and bundled propositions.
- Challenge discounting and margin dilution with fact-based recommendations; monitor discount trends and pricing performance to reinforce commercial discipline.
- Support strategic account planning with profitability, cost-to-serve, and pricing analysis; identify margin expansion and cross-sell opportunities and prioritise activity by value and deliverability.
- Improve commercial MI and dashboards in partnership with Technology and Data teams; convert complex data into practical recommendations for leaders.
Required Experience
- Significant commercial finance experience in financial services, fund services, professional services, or a complex global B2B environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in pricing governance, margin management, profitability analysis, and commercial decision support.
- Experience leading or supporting annual fee increase governance and execution across multiple regions/business lines.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into action-oriented insights and clear executive-level narratives.
- Proven stakeholder influence in a matrix organisation, including the ability to challenge constructively and drive accountability.
- Experience partnering across Finance, Revenue & Strategy, Sales, Operations, and Technology with clear ownership boundaries.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with contract-to-cash concepts, commercial billing impacts, and revenue leakage prevention (governance/insight perspective).
- Strong commercial MI, dashboarding, and performance tracking experience (e.g., client profitability, contribution margin, pricing outcomes).
- Exposure to strategic account planning frameworks and commercial modelling for cross-sell and wallet-share expansion.
- Experience working in a global operating model with multiple service lines and regional leadership structures.
