We are looking for a Client Accountant to join our offices in London. In this position, you will play a key role in the growth of our Corporate Services business.
As a Client Accountant within the Corporate Services side of the Client Accounting team, every day brings a new challenge, so you’ll need to be a team player at heart, with an eye for detail and great organizational skills to ensure deadlines are met and timelines are adhered to. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a day-to-day front office contact for your designated clients. You will be part of a supportive team, own your tasks, proactively manage your deliverables, and resolve any issues that may arise.
You will be assigned to assist with client accounting administrations for a portfolio of clients. You will need to be highly organized, pay close attention to detail, and be keen to cope with multiple tasks, prioritise, and provide excellent customer services, which CSC is well known for. You will have extensive knowledge of producing monthly management accounts and the production of standalone financial statements under FRS 102.
Knowing how to build an effective and positive relationship with clients through quality services, honest integrity, and sincerity is essential. By building positive relationships with your clients, you will find solutions to build strong customer relationships with existing and new clients, gaining insight into their needs and delivering customer-centric solutions.
You will be responsible for a portfolio of local and international clients primarily within the renewable energies sector but will also have the opportunity to assist clients in private equity, consultancy, IT, transportation, and holding companies. The portfolio will include the production of monthly periodical accounts, and you will possess the relevant technical accounting expertise and experience in respect of the production of the monthly management accounts.
Your responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for several entities under UK GAAP using Microsoft Business Central.
- Liaise with companies’ auditors and prepare audit files required by the auditors.
- Liaise with companies’ tax advisers to ensure corporation tax return is filed and on time.
- Preparation of financial statements under FRS 102 using CCH accounts production software and reviewing work performed by the Junior Financial Account Managers.
- Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Complete VAT registration for clients and review VAT returns prepared by Junior Financial Account Managers.
- Produce ad hoc reports and analysis as and when required by the Client.
- Maintain client relationships at the appropriate level and maintain a favourable impression of the Company.
- Attend board meetings where necessary.
- Close involvement with the UK cash management team in respect of client payment administrations.
- Work closely with the Company Secretary department to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Delegate tasks for development purposes and provide appropriate support and supervision.
- Review and revise existing accounting practices and procedures for any changes in accounting standards.
People Management:
- Identify development needs for Junior members of staff, including but not limited to providing training, mentoring, feedback, and recognition.
- Work closely with Junior members of the team to solve issues and problems and ensure the continuous high quality and timeliness of service.
- Keep up to date with new accounting standards and instruct/guide Junior members of the team.
- Make recommendations and offer suggestions and solutions for improvements to services.
Your profile:
- Part Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of management accounts production under UK GAAP (FRS102).
- Experience producing financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102).
- A credible individual with intellectual ability and a hands-on approach.
