As the Data Protection Officer (DPO), you are responsible for the data protection for the whole of EMEA Corporate Travel Management. The DPO will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations across CTM EMEA operations. You will have a strong background in data protection, privacy laws, and regulatory compliance, along with excellent communication and leadership skills. This role is junior in our organisation and will report directly to the Global Data Protection Director.

Competencies and Skills

  • Able to assess data management systems.
  • Able to manage information collection and produce a professional response.
  • Excellent knowledge of Privacy & Security related legal and regulatory requirements, including forthcoming legislation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities, whilst facilitating and directing various business disciplines to deliver to expectation.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong one-on-one interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be open to change.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a deep understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including Data Protection Act (UK) 2018, EU/UK GDPR and others.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and protecting sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
