About the Role

Reporting to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures across a portfolio of projects for a government clients. The role will work closely with the Service Delivery team to ensure effective Safeguarding procedures are adhered to.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check and a Security Clearance process, which means that you must have lived in the UK consecutively since 5 years. Please do not apply if that is not the case and if you are not ready to go through background checks.

Aims of the Role

Lead on managing the delivery of the agreed model to ensure a high-quality and equitable service for all stakeholders within a framework that keeps all staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders safe.

Flexibility to travel to sites as and when required to quality assure the Safeguarding Procedures,1-2 days a week across the UK to visit venues. The teams meets on Mondays in the Bradford office.

Use personal experience and expertise, monitoring and evaluation insights, and sector best practices, to lead on the continual quality improvement and best value use of the resources.

Through personal involvement and delegated responsibilities, lead on the development, nurturing and protecting of good relationships with approved suppliers and partners nationally and regionally.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in a safeguarding role within a government, housing, hospitality, or social care setting.

• Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks.

• Experience managing safeguarding concerns, investigations, and risk assessments.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience in training and upskilling staff in safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Proven experience in agency management, multi-forum operations, or a related leadership role.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Attributes

• Experience working with vulnerable groups.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, responding to safeguarding incidents with professionalism.

• A relevant safeguarding qualification (e.g., Level 3 or Level 4 Safeguarding Training).
