We’re looking for a Portfolio Assistant to join a growing specialist bank, supporting the ongoing servicing and management of its property lending portfolio. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 12 months’ experience in lending, loan servicing, portfolio administration, mortgages or banking operations who wants to develop their property finance knowledge and progress within a supportive team.
The role involves:
- Supporting the day-to-day servicing of property loans throughout their lifecycle
- Monitoring outstanding information, loan conditions and borrower obligations
- Assisting with covenant monitoring and compliance reporting
- Processing extensions, redemptions, variations and other servicing requests
- Maintaining regular contact with borrowers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the early identification and escalation of missed payments, arrears or potential concerns
- Assisting with collections activity under the guidance of more experienced team members
- Keeping loan records, workflows and system information accurate and up to date
- Supporting portfolio reporting and monitoring performance against SLAs and KPIs
- Liaising with colleagues across Lending, Credit, Risk, Compliance and Legal
- Contributing to process improvements, system testing and wider operational projects
What we’re looking for:
- At least 12 months’ experience in lending, loan servicing, portfolio administration, mortgages, banking operations or a similar financial services role
- An interest in developing a career within property finance and portfolio management
- Any experience of bridging or specialist property lending would be beneficial, but isn’t essential
- Exposure to extensions, redemptions, covenants, arrears or loan variations would be helpful
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with customer and financial information
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confidence communicating with customers, borrowers and internal stakeholders
- The judgement to recognise potential issues and elevate them promptly
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
- Experience using nCino or a comparable lending system would be helpful, but isn’t essential
You don’t need to have handled complex restructures, enforcement cases or non-performing loans independently. The team is looking for someone with a good grounding in financial services who is keen to develop their portfolio management knowledge and take on greater responsibility over time.
