My client is a fast-growing direct-to-business lender in the UK, founded in 2020. They pride themselves on cutting the red‑tape, reducing paperwork, and eliminating the hassle of getting small businesses finance quickly. They built a bespoke tech platform that enables easy and accurate decision making, allowing an application, approval and funding to all take place within 1‑2 days.
Responsibilities and duties
- In this role you will focus on generating lending opportunities from the previous and current customer base of my client.
- Re‑engage with previous business customers to learn about their growth plans and build a warm pipeline of future deals.
- Call existing clients whose lending may be due to close and re‑engage for new lending opportunities.
- Work with SME business owners to collate loan documentation and share it with the internal team to get the lending up and running.
Key to success
- Build long‑standing relationships and rapport with business owners.
- Be proactive, confident in pitching the product, and take initiative.
- Collaborate with the current team member to learn from their experience (currently over 130% of target).
Essential skills and competencies
- SME lending knowledge – at least 12 months in a SME lender or broker.
- Experience in sales, business development or renewals.
