Scope of Work: As Project Manager, Pre-Openings & Transitions, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness. Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and its strategic planning and development and ensure all directives, practices and initiatives are implemented, embraced, adopted within the resorts.

In this role, I will assume full responsibility for coordinating the operational steps involved in the pre-opening or conversion of a hotel. This includes overall project management of all pre-opening activities, and coordination of operational pre-opening requirements with the Six Senses senior leadership team, Home Office (HO) team, Technical Services (TS) and the property General Manager (GM) / team to ensure Key Milestones are completed in time and on brand. The purpose of this role is to ensure the successful execution of all new build hotel openings, hotel transitions and closures. All activities within the department will be carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law.

I will perform the following relevant tasks for this role:

  • Pre-opening project planning
  • Maintain and update calendar of pre-opening hotels in conjunction with TS
  • Conduct regular TS update calls and obtain progress update reports
  • Monitor general project planning for Six Senses pre-opening hotels and transition projects
  • Initiate pre-opening operations kick off meeting with owner / developer / project manager / GM (if on board) / HO Pre-Opening team
  • Track and ensure Key Milestones are initiated and completed as per the pre-opening timeline (i.e. POB, IT budget, GM recruitment etc.)
  • Ensure the GM onboarding process is timely initiated and successfully completed
  • Ensure the HO pre-opening team members start & manage their Critical Paths as per their departmental timeline
  • Monitor and track OS&E related deliverables: MUR OS&E, OS&E kick off meeting with ownership, track progress and timelines, monitor uniform & retail program & timelines
  • Create and share monthly pre-opening Project Management report with a status update of pre-opening Key Milestones
  • Raise delays in timelines and other project related red flag issues to Corporate Director of Pre-Openings & Transitions and COO, HO leadership team as relevant
  • Monitor the pre-opening expenses to ensure these are in line with the Pre-Opening Budget and highlight under- and overspending to COO (in conjunction with HO operations)
  • Keep the HO Pre-Opening Team updated on Key Milestones completed, due and overdue
  • Follow up on pre-opening processes which involve multiple stakeholders, i.e. Task Force program, Six Senses app set up etc. to ensure a smooth handover process
  • Facilitate, record, and communicate a detailed timeline starting 4 months to opening with TS handover KMs, OS&E delivery, training, host on-boarding, simulation, pre-sell date etc.
  • Ensure all parties (i.e. hotels, HO Pre-Opening team) submit pre-opening status reports as per timeline, as applicable
  • Attend pre-opening related calls, and follow up on action points brought forward during the calls as required

Pre-opening toolbox

  • Further and ongoing development of the pre-opening toolbox based on feedback or requests from the pre-opening teams
  • Ensure correct utilization of the on-line project management program to achieve maximum productivity, full transparency, and successful CP management

Others

  • Assist Corporate Director Pre-Openings as required and be able to take over main tasks in his/her absence

Qualification: To execute the position of Project Manager Pre-Openings and Transitions, the successful candidate will have the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

  • Possess a minimum bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business school and a minimum five years’ experience in a similar Project Management Role
  • Hotel Operations & Hotel Pre-Opening Experience
  • Have the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Technical skills include advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook – and Project Management platform, i.e. Smartsheet
  • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Possess strong Presentation Skills and can effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
