Job Overview
The Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst is responsible for independently managing regulatory and compliance-driven reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
This role requires expertise in regulatory reporting processes, strong data validation capabilities, and the ability to operate within a highly controlled, audit-sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Reporting Ownership
- Independently prepare, validate, and deliver recurring regulatory and compliance reports with minimal oversight.
- Manage end-to-end reporting processes—from data extraction and validation to documentation and submission.
- Ensure reports meet strict accuracy, completeness, and timeliness standards.
- Collaborate with global counterparts to interpret reporting requirements and maintain alignment.
- Data Validation & Governance
- Perform advanced data quality checks, reconciliations, and exception analyses across multiple systems.
- Investigate discrepancies and lead root‑cause reviews with stakeholders.
- Design and maintain data integrity controls to support regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen data definitions, reporting logic, and metadata documentation.
- Controls, Documentation & Audit Support
- Maintain comprehensive SOPs, process maps, and control documentation for all reporting processes.
- Lead responses during internal and external audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen the regulatory reporting control environment.
- Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify automation opportunities to replace manual steps and reduce reporting risk.
- Partner with BI engineering and analytics teams to transition static reports into automated dashboards or workflows.
- Implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, reliability, and transparency.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Engage with Regulatory and Compliance to clarify requirements and source data.
- Communicate risks, delays, and data issues proactively to leadership.
- Support cross‑departmental initiatives that elevate reporting quality and governance.
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in regulatory reporting, compliance reporting, or related risk/governance roles within financial services or payments businesses.
- 5+ years of experience writing advanced SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, and automation of data workflows.
- 3+ years of hands‑on Power BI development experience, including report development, dashboard design, semantic modelling, DAX, and data visualization.
- Hands‑on experience with Alteryx for data preparation, workflow automation, reconciliation, exception reporting, and reporting process improvement.
- Proven ability to independently manage recurring regulatory submissions within a controlled, audit‑sensitive environment.
- Experience performing detailed data validation, reconciliation, and exception management across large and complex datasets.
- Deep understanding of documentation standards, audit trails, and control frameworks supporting regulatory reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to reliably manage tight reporting timelines and recurring deliverables.
- Experience working with code repositories (Git Hub, Bitbucket, Azure Dev Ops, etc.) to manage version control and change management.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SSRS or Power BI Report Server.
- Experience with payment transaction reporting (PTR), CESOP, AML reporting, Client Money, Safeguarding, EMIR, Mi FID, or similar financial services regulatory reporting and control frameworks.
