Your role

We are currently looking to hire an Associate EDD Analyst within the ABS sector as part of our Alpha line of business.

This role plays a critical part in protecting the organisation from money laundering and broader financial crime risks by conducting enhanced due diligence reviews on high-risk clients and scenarios.

In this position, you will be responsible for assessing whether identified financial crime risks are sufficiently mitigated and aligned with Alpha’s risk appetite, as well as investigating escalated high‑risk factors such as politically exposed persons (PEPs) and adverse media findings in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders across the business to support growth while upholding strong compliance standards, contributing to risk identification efforts and helping to enhance processes that strengthen the organisation’s defences against financial crime, money laundering and terrorist financing.

What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of high‑risk client accounts to evaluate the risks posed, ensuring adherence to procedural, policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle complex cases and assess escalations from 1st Line, and escalating further where required, pertaining to:
  • Adverse media
  • PEPs
  • State‑owned enterprises (SOEs)
  • Risk appetite
  • Policy exceptions/deviations
  • AML letters
  • Provide EDD guidance to the 1st Line, Client Service and Sales teams with support of an Analyst/Senior/TL.
  • Contribute to the wider compliance framework, supporting the development of internal processes and procedures.
  • Conduct analysis on alternative investment structures, becoming adept in various client types, including corporate entities, trusts, funds, SPVs.
  • Ensure all work is carried out with the highest standards of quality and adherence to policies and actively work on individual performance with Line Manager.
  • Master various compliance platforms, screening tools and systems to streamline department workflow.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to queries from various business units.

  • Interest in compliance, KYC and anti‑money laundering regulations is required; 1–2 years of AML/KYC experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
