What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Collections Officer within our Fleetcor Europe division. This position falls under our IVP line of business, located in Ipswich, UK. In this role, you will be managing and recovering returned Direct Debit payments across multiple lines of business within Corpay^, ensuring prompt resolution of overdue balances and minimizing bad debt.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Collections Team Leader.

Job description

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate ledger management always following best practice procedures.
  • Recovering unpaid Direct Debits.
  • Undertaking timely referral of collection issues to management, as appropriate.
  • Building and developing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and clients.
  • Engaging with customers in a professional and empathetic manner to resolve outstanding balances and maintain positive client relationships
  • Ensuring customer queries are responded to promptly and accurately, with a correct first time approach.
  • Maintaining ageing debt within agreed targets, through effective communication and timely follow-up, with guidance and support from management
  • Ensuring compliance with Data Protection Act where any payment information is provided.

Required profile

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous credit control collection experience would be preferable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional telephone manner.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Methodical and organized.
  • Computer literate, with familiarity of Microsoft Office (or similar)
  • Calm and Professional when resolving disputes
  • Cooperative and dependable with an aptitude to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Able to make own decisions and to recognize when to escalate.
