Your role
Corpay is currently looking to hire an Interim Legal Counsel within our Legal department with our International Vehicles Payments (IVP) division. This position falls under our Payments line of business and is located in Swindon, UK. We are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Vehicle Payments legal team as maternity cover on a 9-month contract. Working closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, the successful candidate will support a broad range of legal matters arising from Corpay's operations across the UK.
The role supports multiple business lines, including Allstar, Plugsurfing, Keyfuels and other Vehicle Payments businesses, providing pragmatic legal advice to stakeholders, supporting strategic initiatives and helping the business manage legal risk while enabling growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking a varied in-house role with exposure to commercial contracts, product development, regulatory matters, corporate governance, disputes, supplier arrangements and day-to-day legal operations. The position is open to candidates seeking either a full-time role or a part-time arrangement of 3-4 days per week. You will report directly to the General Counsel IVP, and collaborate regularly with the wider IVP Legal team and cross-functionally across all business areas of IVP.

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Acting as trusted advisor to business colleagues, leaders and senior legal staff.
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements across the UK.
- Support the Allstar, Keyfuels and Plugsurfing businesses on day-to-day legal matters and strategic initiatives.
- Maintaining and updating template documents.
- Reviewing NDA’s and providing template contracts to stakeholders.
- Undertaking varied corporate work such as preparing board minutes, maintaining corporate registers and preparing filings.
- Working with senior lawyers on a diverse range of legal areas such as corporate, commercial, marketing and product.
- Assisting on major projects and co‑ordinating actions for the senior lawyers.
- Managing commercial disputes and litigation matters in the UK.
- Supporting product development initiatives with actionable and clear legal advice.
- Assist with the management and protection of the company's intellectual property portfolio.
- Support the day-to-day administration and operation of the legal function.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
A UK qualified lawyer of 2-5 years PQE. This is a guide only and candidates with more or less experience will be considered if he/she satisfies the other requirements for the job. Experience of working in an in-house legal team.
