Corpay is currently looking to hire a new Payments Compliance Analyst within the Cross Border Division. This position falls under our Corporate Payments line of business based in London, Moorgate.

Sitting within the Compliance function you will be responsible for the review, monitoring, and investigation of payment activity to ensure compliance with applicable AML, CTF, and sanctions regulations. The role has a strong focus on transaction monitoring, live payments screening, and sanctions screening, working closely with internal stakeholders, local banks, and regulators as required.

You will be supporting the effective identification, escalation, and reporting of financial crime risks arising from payment activity, while ensuring timely and accurate responses to regulatory and banking enquiries. You will report directly to the Compliance Manager EMEA and regularly collaborate with the wider global legal and compliance teams.

As a Payments Compliance Analyst, you will be expected to work in a hybrid office environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Payments & Transaction Monitoring: Perform transaction monitoring and live payments screening to identify potential AML, CTF, fraud, or sanctions risks.
  • Review payment activity against customer profiles, expected behaviour, and known risk indicators.
  • Identify, investigate, and appropriately escalate unusual or suspicious payment activity in line with internal procedures.
  • Sanctions & Screening: Conduct real-time and post-event sanctions screening of payments and counterparties.
  • Assess alerts generated by screening systems and determine appropriate outcomes, including escalation where required.
  • Bank & Third-Party Engagement: Review and respond to local bank RFIs (Requests for Information) relating to payments, customers, or transactions.
  • Liaise with internal teams to gather information required to address banking queries and mitigate escalation risk.
  • RBR / Risk-Based Reviews: Support risk-based reviews (RBR) of payment activity and customers, applying a proportionate, risk-based approach.
  • Investigations & Projects: Support and conduct ad hoc investigations and reviews as directed by the Manager and Compliance Director.
  • Contribute to project work related to payments controls, monitoring enhancements, or regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in payments compliance, transaction monitoring, or financial crime operations.
  • Strong understanding of AML, CTF, and sanctions risks associated with payment activity.
  • Experience preparing or supporting SAR filings.
  • University degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with other departments.
  • Experience working alongside C-suite executives and global teams.
  • Ability to identify trends and inconsistencies, including but not limited to interpreting alerts, assessing risk scores and entity types, knowledge of commonly known high-risk industries, red flags and typologies.
  • Strong writing, research, and investigation skills; capability to document relevant information clearly, structured, and comprehensively.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral); any other language, such as Spanish and/or Italian is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work as a strong team player in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
