Temporary Head Chef (Temporary, 10‑week assignment)
We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Temporary Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a busy pub in a beautiful coastal village near Seaton, Devon.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a fast‑paced kitchen, lead from the front, and maintain high standards throughout a 10‑week assignment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a kitchen team of 5 chefs and 2 kitchen porters
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen
- Maintain exceptional food quality, menu consistency, and kitchen standards
- Manage stock ordering, food safety, compliance, and kitchen administration
- Inspire, support, and motivate the team to deliver an outstanding dining experience
- Assignment Details
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: Approximately 10 weeks
- Hours: Average of 45 hours per week
- Pay rate: £21.00 per hour
- Weekly pay & holiday pay
- Accommodation: Shared live‑in staff accommodation on site
- Parking: Free on‑site parking
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Head Chef
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a busy kitchen and motivate a team
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
- Available to start immediately
