Our client, a geothermal engineer site in Cornwall, is seeking power plant operators to join their team. Please only apply if you have relevant experience.
What we offer:
- £30K-£45K per annum
- Permanent position
- Full-time | Rotating shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 rest days)

The role:
- Managing the safe and efficient start-up and shut-down of critical equipment, including generators, auxiliary pumps, and other essential plant systems.
- Operating the plant in compliance with safety and environmental regulations, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Controlling and maintaining auxiliary systems such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, filters, and power systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Making real-time adjustments to keep the plant operating within performance parameters, whilst prioritising safety, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Apprentice trained or qualified to ONC/HNC in a relevant discipline (electrical, mechanical, process engineering, etc.)
- Proven experience in a power station operations team or similar industrial setting
- Solid knowledge of safety protocols and permit to work systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role)
Desirable:
- A minimum of one year's experience within electricity generation facilities (or similar)
- A keen interest in renewable energy and in contributing to Cornwall's transition to a net zero carbon future by 2030
- Willingness to work in challenging conditions, including heights and with mobile plant equipment, following appropriate training
