Our client, a respected construction company, is seeking a highly organised and experienced site coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis.
What we offer:
- £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
- Monday - Friday
- 7.30am - 4pm

The role:
- Procurement & Materials Management: Source and purchase timber, engineered wood products, panel products, fixings, membranes, and ancillary materials in line with production and project requirements. This will be delivered directly to the site, and/or to our manufacturing facility. Source and purchase cranes and haulage for site erection of Timber Frame. Closely monitor the weather for high wind speeds that will prevent the crane from operating. Raise and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures, update schedules, and distribute to relevant parties involved. Ensure timely delivery of materials to the factory and/or site to support manufacturing and erection schedules.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with approved suppliers. Aid in negotiating pricing, lead times, and supply chain agreements/service level agreements. Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or service issues and report any concerns to management.
- Cost Control: Control material costs in line with master price lists and project quotes. Monitor price fluctuations and report findings to management. Actively look to identify opportunities for cost savings, bulk purchasing, and alternative sourcing.
- Production & Project Coordination: Liaise closely with design, estimating, production, and site teams to ensure purchasing aligns with programmed requirements. Support project delivery by resolving supply chain issues that may impact schedules.
- Quality, Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all purchased materials meet industry specifications, building regulations, and company standards, using the company approved materials list. Maintain timber certification requirements. Manage non-conforming materials, returns, and corrective actions with suppliers.
- Stock & Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of core materials and plan project specific materials. Minimise waste, excess stock offsite and onsite. Aid in forecasting of materials with repeat house types, site programmes.
- Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing records, correct input into purchase order systems to reflect invoices match orders. Attend internal meetings and report on supplier performance, potential cost savings, price increases, material allocation etc. Support audits and internal reporting requirements for the various accreditations that Cornwall Timber Build hold: PEFC, ISO 9001, STA Gold.
Personal Specifications:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy company.
- Ability to adapt to changes.
- Experience within construction, timber frame, manufacturing, or a related industry beneficial.
- Good understanding of timber products and construction materials.
- Commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs.
