Job Description
The role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklift trucks within a busy warehouse or distribution centre environment.
The successful candidate manages the loading, unloading, stacking and movement of goods and materials in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
This position requires adherence to strict operational standards to ensure accuracy and timeliness in warehouse activities.
- Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks to move goods and materials safely within the warehouse or distribution site.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring correct handling of products.
- Stack and arrange stock in designated locations to maximise space and maintain order.
- Complete documentation accurately to record stock movements and inventory levels.
- Conduct daily safety checks on forklift trucks and report any faults or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including picking and packing orders.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Required Qualifications
- Valid forklift truck operator licence or certificate appropriate to the vehicle @type used on site.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to complete required documentation and follow instructions.
Experience
- Previous experience as a forklift truck driver within a warehouse, distribution centre or similar environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management is advantageous.
