Location: Redruth and surrounding areas, Cornwall

Hours: 26 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:45am-2:00pm

Contract: Term-time only

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic

Cook to join a busy school near Redruth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in cooking and food preparation, ideally within a school or similar setting. You will take pride in preparing high-quality meals, maintaining excellent kitchen standards and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals in line with the school's menu requirements.




• Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and on time.




• Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked kitchen.




• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.




• Help provide healthy and appealing meal choices for pupils.




• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a positive and inclusive school environment.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in cooking and food preparation.




• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices.




• Strong organisational and time management skills.




• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.




• A reliable, flexible and proactive approach.




• A caring, positive attitude and a commitment to supporting young people.
