Cornwall Pride is a registered charity dedicated to creating a hate‑free Cornwall where everyone is free to be who they are. We deliver Pride events across the Duchy, reaching communities far and wide, alongside our Safer Spaces initiative, inclusion training, and wellbeing programmes. At our heart, we bring people together to celebrate diversity, champion equality, and support LGBTQ+ people and marginalised communities.

The Role

We are seeking a creative and values‑driven Marketing & Communications Lead to shape how Cornwall Pride connects with the public, the press, and our communities. You will lead the development and delivery of Cornwall Pride’s marketing and communications strategy, ensuring our events, campaigns, and projects are visible, inclusive, and accessible. Working closely with the CEO, Managing Director, and the wider team, you’ll act as a brand guardian while amplifying the voices and stories of LGBTQ+ communities across Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities

  • Income Generation & Campaigns: Develop and deliver campaigns that generate income for the charity through partnerships, promoting our training and paid services, crowdfunding, and individual donations. Lead the creation and scheduling of Cornwall Pride campaigns and services.
  • Community Storytelling & Visibility: Collaborate with the team to promote events, training, Safer Spaces, volunteer recruitment, and funded projects. Coordinate storytelling – written, video, and digital – from volunteers, partners, and community projects. Ensure LGBTQ+ stories are shared widely, amplifying voices from across Cornwall’s communities, celebrating queer joy and resilience, while also highlighting discrimination.
  • Press & Public Narratives: Work with local and national press contacts to pitch stories, respond to media requests, and shape public narratives about LGBTQ+ life in Cornwall. Respond to anti‑LGBTQ+ narratives and hostile press with clear, values‑led messaging. Act as brand guardian, maintaining visual identity, tone of voice, and values‑led representation across all channels.
  • Digital Marketing & Design: Develop and deliver inclusive, accessible marketing across posters, social media, newsletters, email, website, and print. Oversee the Cornwall Pride website and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn), ensuring content is engaging and on‑brand. Design and schedule graphics, reels, newsletters, and digital storytelling campaigns.

Key Experience

  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues in Cornwall.
  • Proven experience in a KPI driven marketing environment.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, adaptable for press, digital, and community audiences.
  • Experience managing social media channels and creating engaging content.
  • Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) and content scheduling.
  • Experience in responding to hostile press or online trolling.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.

Benefits / Work Conditions

  • Flexibility: flexible working hours, mainly remote, so you can be based anywhere and balance work with life.
  • Time to recharge: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).
  • Tools for the job: a laptop provided to make sure you can work effectively wherever you are.
  • Meaningful impact: be part of a passionate, values‑led team creating safer, more inclusive communities across Cornwall.
  • Use of Hall for Cornwall Husa shared office – so you can connect with other organisations and Husa support.
  • Travel across Cornwall required.
  • Salary circa £15.50 an hour.

We’re an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity or disability status.
