It’s an exciting time to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Cornwall, where your clinical expertise, training and high level of specialist experience are recognised with a genuine commitment to your career development and continued learning.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our West Cornwall CAMHS team, based in Penzance and Kerrier. We are open to applicants from Clinical Psychologists who feel ready for a Band 8a role, however we are also very happy to consider applicants who wish to consider a Developmental role. Our developmental role posts enable clinicians to start with us in a Band 7 job role, and receive coaching and supervision to enable them to achieve competence as an 8a psychologist over an 18 - 24 month period.
Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified clinical psychology service to children and adolescent and their families with complex psychological problems, across all sectors of care: Proving Highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on client’s psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

Person specification
Experience
- Experience as a psychologist, working with children in either clinical or community settings.
- Experience of working with young children with emotional/behavioural difficulties
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
- Evidence of undertaking training in supervision.
Training and Development
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
- Evidence of undertaking training in supervision.
