The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Practitioner Psychologist to play a key leadership role in developing and delivering integrated health services for adults experiencing mental health difficulties. The post holder will provide a high level of specialist psychological expertise within community mental health settings, supporting complex and challenging cases and ensuring the delivery of effective, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • As the lead psychologist, oversee the allocation of referrals and ensure interventions are provided by appropriately skilled staff.
  • Maintain high clinical standards across the service.
  • Offer specialist assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of psychological care packages for individuals with significant mental health needs or challenging behaviours.

About the Trust

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
