Recently, our Litigation Team was proudly awarded “Team of the Year” at the 2025 Cornwall Law Society Awards. We are seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to become a key member of our litigation team. You will manage a diverse caseload, primarily focused on property disputes, and work alongside some of the most skilled professionals in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and progress a wide-ranging caseload of litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on property-related disputes such as boundary issues, easements, rights of way, restrictive covenants, landlord and tenant matters, and possession claims.
  • Advise and represent both commercial and residential clients, including individuals, landlords, tenants, and property developers, on contentious property issues.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence with precision and clarity, ensuring compliance with procedural rules and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law affecting property litigation.
  • Prepare cases for court hearings, mediation, and other forms of dispute resolution; attend court as required to represent clients or instruct counsel.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the lifecycle of a case, providing strategic advice and regular updates, while managing client expectations effectively.
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments, including conveyancing and commercial property teams, to provide a seamless and integrated service to clients.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure deadlines, billing targets, and compliance requirements are met consistently.
  • Take an active role in business development by building client relationships and contributing to the firm’s profile in the local and wider legal community.
  • Support the team with business development activities, including attending networking events and fostering referral relationships.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and case law.

About You:

This position is ideal for an experienced Litigation Solicitor seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to join an award-winning team. Skills/Experience Required:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year post qualification experience in litigation.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of civil procedure and property-related legal principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear and approachable manner.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Proficient in using case management systems and IT software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
