Cornwall Insight is an award-winning provider of research, analysis, consulting and training to businesses and stakeholders engaged in the Great British and Irish energy markets. We are seeking a Senior New Business Manager to join our Go To Market team in our London office.
The post holder will lead Business Development efforts in taking Cornwall Insight’s proposition to new organisations within our Total Addressable Market (TAM) primarily in the GB Renewables sector. They will identify, research and proactively outreach to prospective clients through a variety of channels, such as email, phone, text, social media and face-to-face. Seeking to drive revenue by qualifying leads, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts while exceeding Quarterly New logo sales targets. The successful candidate will benefit from being part of a market leader, surrounded by subject matter experts in a flexible and encouraging work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Planning: In partnership with your manager, develop and maintain a sales plan to win new customers from a variety of Energy industry segments with a key focus on Renewables.
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Product and Analysis to execute against the New Business strategy.
- Accountability: Responsibility for research, prospecting and qualification as directed by your Manager.
- Achieving sales targets for existing and new products.
- Sales forecasting: Effectively manage the business pipeline to ensure accurate forecasting in Salesforce and develop a strong new business pipeline of opportunities.
- Identify and prioritise outbound new business opportunities, executing strategies to open doors.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team and especially with Lead Generation Marketer, to implement effective promotional and prospecting programmes.
- Proactive outbound and inbound new business development: Outreach efficiently to leads as directed by your Manager.
- Develop new subscription customers via strong market awareness or addressable market and incumbent players through desk research and collaboration with Analysis and Product teams.
- Develop a good understanding of the value of our solutions and the segments to support new business identification, including uncovering new audiences and growth sectors.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Market Intelligence, Consulting and Technology teams to provide customer feedback and insights for product developments.
- Strong experience in new sales development with a track record of achieving targets.
- Demonstrated ability to close deals with an Average Order Value of at least £20,000.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven, creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
- Strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organization.
- Relevant experience in a B2B / Business Intelligence environment.
- Industry experience in the Renewables space is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM software.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to close.
- Proven success in selling data or intelligence subscription solutions preferred.
