We are delighted to advertise for an inspirational Head of PE to lead us through the next stage of the exciting development of physical education at Bodmin College. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher, who fully understands and embraces the benefit that physical education has on the development of physically and emotionally healthy young people. You will bring the drive and determination required to develop both the academic curriculum and the co-curricular offer for our students. Bodmin College has a proud history of participation in physical education, and the successful candidate will have the skills and knowledge to continue this drive for excellence. Our students compete in a wide range of local, regional and national sporting competitions and embrace the opportunities available to them.

The Head of PE will:

  • Provide strategic leadership for PE and Health & Social Care across Key Stage 3-5 (where applicable).
  • Lead curriculum development that is ambitious, inclusive and responsive to future pathways.
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Promote participation, enrichment and competitive sport.
  • Develop Health & Social Care as a rigorous and aspirational subject area.
  • Lead and develop a committed team of teaching and support staff.
