We’re looking for an experienced and driven Depot Manager to lead our St Columb distribution depot, playing a key role in delivering our products across the region. This is a senior leadership position with full P&L accountability, responsible for overseeing transport and warehouse operations while ensuring industry-leading standards in safety, compliance, and customer service. You’ll lead a multi‑functional team and drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Operational Leadership
    • Lead all transport and warehouse operations, ensuring seamless daily execution
    • Deliver outstanding service performance, including OTIF targets
    • Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and health & safety standards
    • Optimise fleet utilisation, warehouse efficiency, and resource planning
  • People & Culture
    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing team across drivers, warehouse, and office functions
    • Embed a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and succession planning
    • Manage employee relations fairly and consistently
  • Financial & Commercial Management
    • Own the depot P&L, delivering against budget and financial targets
    • Drive revenue growth and margin improvement
    • Control costs across labour, fleet, agency, and overheads
    • Ensure accurate invoicing and cost management processes
  • Performance & Continuous Improvement
    • Track, analyse, and report on operational and financial KPIs
    • Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions
    • Manage seasonal peaks effectively
    • Use data‑driven insights to enhance performance and efficiency

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a senior depot, transport, or logistics management role
  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, route planning, and depot management
  • Solid understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations, and compliance
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets and P&L
  • Skilled in performance management, coaching, and employee engagement
  • A proactive leader who can drive change and continuous improvement
