About the Role
Based at the Bicton campus, the Specialist Maths Teacher will form a key part of the English and Mathematics teaching team, ensuring all learners receive high‑quality education to maximise their potential. The post holder will create an inspirational and innovative curriculum supporting learners to reach their full potential, achieve Functional Skills and GCSE Maths exams, and exit college equipped with valuable real‑world skills. They will take responsibility for their own discrete group(s) of learners while on their Functional Skills or GCSE course and deliver additional maths sessions to curriculum learners across the Group, either in person or remotely.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality Maths education to 14‑19‑year olds.
- Develop inspiring curriculum and assessment aligned with external examination specifications.
- Support curriculum across the Group, delivering additional maths sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues across sites, maintaining consistency of delivery.
Qualifications
- Level 4/5 subject specialism in Maths or a relevant degree with Level 3 Maths.
- Full teaching qualifications (PGCE, DET, or Cert Ed).
- Experience teaching 14‑19‑year olds, with a strong track record of achievement.
- Excellent people skills, flexibility across sites, ability to inspire and challenge students.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment and meeting external examination specifications.
- Experience teaching 16‑19 or GCSE‑level students – advantage.
