We’re seeking an experienced Estates Manager to lead the management and development of our Stoke Climsland campus and one other external site. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering safe, compliant, sustainable, and high‑quality learning environments for students and staff.
About the Role
You will oversee all aspects of estate operations, including maintenance, grounds, compliance, projects, and budgets. Leading the on‑site Estates team, you’ll ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations while driving continuous improvement across the campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all estate operations at Stoke Climsland
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Deliver planned and reactive grounds programmes
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
- Manage budgets, resources, and contractor performance
- Oversee capital projects and estate improvements
- Maintain high standards across buildings, grounds, and facilities
- Promote sustainability and environmental initiatives
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
The postholder will bring proven experience of managing a large, complex estate, with a strong track record of delivering high standards across maintenance, grounds, compliance, and operations. You are a confident and capable leader who can motivate teams, build a positive culture, and ensure excellent customer service across all areas of the estate.
You will be highly organised and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. With strong communication and influencing skills, you can engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll also demonstrate sound financial awareness, with experience managing budgets and delivering projects successfully, alongside a proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
The postholder should hold a degree or professional qualification in a relevant field, such as Building Surveying or Construction Management. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS or CIOB) is desirable, as are leadership or project management qualifications.
Hours of Work
This is a full‑time role, 37 hours per week/52 weeks per year. The role requires flexibility to meet business needs, including occasional evening and weekend call‑outs.
