About the Role: Based at our Camborne campus, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. As the campus safeguarding officer, you will provide expert advice, guidance and support to colleagues, leading on day‑to‑day safeguarding matters and helping to embed a strong culture of safeguarding across the campus.

Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), you will support vulnerable learners, including children in care, those with child protection plans and learners with complex safeguarding needs, ensuring they receive the right support to achieve their full potential. You will build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies, coordinate safeguarding interventions and referrals, and work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to remove barriers to learning. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people, promoting their wellbeing, and ensuring every learner feels safe, valued and supported throughout their college journey.

Skills & Experience: We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and resilient individual who is passionate about safeguarding and making a positive difference to the lives of young people and adults. You will have excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to support, encourage and challenge learners while working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies. You will share our values, demonstrating integrity, respect, inclusivity and a genuine commitment to helping every learner succeed. You will have experience of supporting learners, undertaking safeguarding interventions and working with external partners, alongside a strong understanding of safeguarding, Prevent, learner wellbeing and mental health. A commitment to equality, continuous professional development and delivering high‑quality learner support is essential, as are good IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365. Applicants should hold Level 2 English and Maths and have current Level 2 Safeguarding and Level 3 Multi‑Agency Safeguarding training (or be willing to achieve these), together with flexibility to work across college sites and occasionally outside normal working hours.

Benefits: We have excellent terms and conditions of employment. We offer:

  • Generous annual leave schemes – 25 days per annum for support roles, plus a paid Christmas closure of two weeks for most roles.
  • Access to generous occupational pension schemes for teachers and support staff.
  • Flexible and supportive family‑friendly working practices.
  • A range of staff development activities available and all employees have access to free tuition on many of our courses.
  • A range of health and wellbeing initiatives to our employees including access to free counselling and a corporate eye care scheme.
  • Employee discount scheme via a corporate benefit scheme – discounts with major retailers.
  • Most of our campus sites offer free parking to employees as well as discounted restaurants and salons.
