About the Role:

Based at our Camborne campus, we are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to assist with the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen environment. In this role, you will support the Head Chef Supervisor and wider team by helping to prepare food and drinks, serve customers, and carry out general kitchen duties including pot washing and maintaining cleanliness. You will work in a commercial catering setting alongside staff and students, ensuring high standards of hygiene and health and safety are consistently met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing daily safety checks
  • Maintaining clean and organised food preparation areas
  • Processing customer orders and payments
  • Delivering excellent customer service while responding to feedback to enhance the overall experience
  • Supporting stock control by helping to monitor and order supplies as needed

Please note that there will be a requirement to work on Saturdays.

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with the skills, abilities, and competencies to thrive in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. The ideal applicant will have experience working in a similar setting and demonstrate a strong understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations. While not essential, experience in stock management, using systems such as Safer Food, Better Business, and handling cashing up tills would be advantageous. Applicants must hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification and a Level 2 Food Preparation and Cookery certificate, ensuring they can maintain high standards of food safety and quality. A Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in English and Maths is desirable and would support effective communication and day-to-day operational tasks.
