We are seeking a proactive Grounds Technician to help maintain and enhance the beautiful Bicton Campus estate. This role is responsible for delivering high quality grounds maintenance, horticultural projects, and estate improvements while ensuring attractive, safe, and welcoming spaces for students, staff, and visitors.

Working closely with the Estates Manager, you will operate a range of horticultural machinery, support biodiversity initiatives, oversee students and volunteers, liaise with contractors, and ensure all grounds related health and safety, statutory, and maintenance requirements are met. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about horticulture, estate management, and creating outstanding outdoor environments.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 qualification in Horticulture or Arboriculture, along with Level 2 English and Maths, and relevant NPTC certifications in chainsaw operation, felling, arboriculture and the use of horticultural machinery. You will have experience maintaining public facing grounds and managing statutory requirements relating to horticulture, machinery and arboriculture. A passion for supporting learners is essential, as the role involves working closely with students to provide practical learning opportunities.
