Cornwall College is seeking an experienced ESOL Tutor to deliver high-quality ESOL provision that meets the needs of learners and the local community. The role involves teaching across ESOL programmes, including adult learners and Children Seeking Asylum aged 16-19, supporting learners from initial assessment through to successful achievement. The successful candidate will have experience teaching ESOL with accredited qualifications, using inclusive and engaging teaching strategies, and preparing learners for assessment. Travel between campuses is required, with a strong focus on learner retention, achievement, and high-quality teaching and learning.
Skills & Experience / Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to achieve one) and have knowledge and experience of teaching ESOL/EFL, supported by a relevant subject qualification at Level 3 or above. They will have, or be willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths, and demonstrate relevant academic, professional or vocational experience. A strong belief in the transformational power of education, a positive approach to working in Further Education, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential. Desirable attributes include successful teaching experience, subject specialist expertise, IQA or higher-level qualifications, and flexibility to adapt to change and development.
