Project Search Employability Instructor

Location: Based at New County Hall, Truro – with requirement to travel

Salary: £24,454.04 FTE / CC30 / £12.71 per hour (actual pro-rata salary £13,726.80 plus holiday pay £2,006.22, total pro-rata salary £15,733.02 – £14.57 per hour)

Terms & Conditions: Term Time Only (30 Hours/36 Weeks) Support Contract

About the Role

Through The Cornwall College Group, \”Project Search\” is a new Cornwall Council provision with the aim of ensuring a successful transition from college to employment for our learners, some with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role will consist of teaching employability skills, delivering functional skills English & maths, alongside attending the work placements in which the learners are based. The post holder will be required to ensure that learners have the appropriate work experience opportunities by building a positive relationship with them, their parents & carers, also engaging with our curriculum and support teams, employers and external agencies.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a positive and adaptable individual who believes in the transformational quality of education through providing a positive teaching and learning experience for learners.

It is essential that the postholder has successful experience of working with young people with SEND and demonstrable experience of networking successfully with multi-agency teams/employers in support of vulnerable young people. The post holder must also hold at least level 2 English and Maths.

The post holder will be required to visit local employers and should therefore be a car owner with a current driving licence and business insurance. They should be prepared to use their car for travel between college and employers where necessary. The postholder can claim towards mileage expenses, please ask for further details.
