About the Role

As our Events & Marketing Officer, you'll play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly across our corporate events here at Cornwall College Group. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you might be managing bookings, purchase orders, and spreadsheets, or coordinating event marketing materials and newsletters; the next you'll be hands-on at an event, helping set up stands, greeting visitors, or packing away equipment. You need to be a real people-person to successfully communicate with the wider marketing team, college departments and stakeholders, as well as with suppliers, and event attendees. You'll also need strong organisational skills to keep track of all the minor parts involved with putting together events and marketing activities as well as being a completer finisher. The role is a mix of office working plus some evenings and weekend work when events are running. As it is a practical role too, you need to be physically fit and comfortable lifting and moving equipment (sometimes even bales of straw or our famous life-size Daisy the cow!). A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Skills & Experience

  • Level 3 qualification in either Events/Marketing/Customer Service/Business Admin
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 (especially SharePoint and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Good time management, able to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role, events or marketing.

Benefits

  • Generous annual leave schemes – 25 days per annum for support roles, plus a paid Christmas closure of two weeks for most roles.
  • Access to generous occupational pension schemes for teachers and support staff.
  • Flexible and supportive family-friendly working practices.
  • A range of staff development activities available and all employees have access to free tuition on many of our courses.
  • A range of health and wellbeing initiatives to our employees including access to free counselling and a corporate eye care scheme.
  • Employee discount scheme via a corporate benefit scheme – discounts with major retailers.
  • Most of our campus sites offer free parking to employees as well as discounted restaurants and salons.
