Java Software Engineer – Hybrid Role in Surrey!

As a Software Engineer, you’ll work in an agile squad, guided by a Tech Lead, to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that power a leading SaaS platform. You’ll leverage your 3-5 years of commercial Java experience to build robust microservices using Spring Boot, integrate RESTful APIs, and contribute to front-end development with React, Redux, Styled Components, and TypeScript. What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on microservices and Spring Boot.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless collaboration with front-end teams.
- Write clean, testable code with TDD principles and maintain high-quality unit tests.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Infrastructure Team on DevOps tasks, including CI, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Champion QA automation using tools like Cypress and contribute to technical documentation.
- Embrace a product mindset, driving success for a SaaS platform that empowers brands and consumers.
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years of commercial experience in Java development, with expertise in microservices and ideally Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, SQL, and No-SQL databases.
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Desirable: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, SaaS environments, high-throughput APIs, or Cypress testing tools.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is advantageous.
