Our People team is based in Paulton (near Bath/Bristol) and provides support to our 70+ bakeries across the country. This exciting role is an addition to the team, to gain hands on experience across all areas of HR while working towards a recognised qualification in People Practice. We have ambitious plans to accelerate our growth and want to make sure we remain a People first business driven by a World Class culture.
You’ll work closely with experienced HR professionals and support the team with a wide range of people-related activities, giving you valuable exposure to both operational and strategic HR. About the role: As our HR Apprentice, you’ll support the People team in delivering an excellent HR service across the business. You’ll gain experience in recruitment, employee relations, engagement, learning and development, reporting, administration and HR systems. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, highly organised, proactive and passionate about building a career in HR.
As People Apprentice your key responsibilities will be to:
- Support the People team with day to day HR administration and employee queries
- Assist with recruitment activity including advertising roles, arranging interviews and onboarding new starters
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Assist with preparing reports and analysing people data
- Help coordinate training and development activities
- Support managers and the People team with HR projects and initiatives
- Assist with updating HR policies and procedures
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company policies and employment legislation
- Build positive relationships with colleagues across the business
What we are looking for:
- A genuine interest in HR and people management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- A positive, proactive and flexible approach
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- The ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong willingness to learn and develop
- Previous administration or customer service experience (desirable but not essential)
