The Talent Development & Recruiting Specialist creates, coordinates and oversees the training needs and professional development for all Bank associates to ensure the workforce is skilled, confident, and aligned with the company’s policies and procedures and supports Cornhusker Bank’s culture. This role partners with HR and business leaders to identify skill gaps, develop training solutions and drive a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. This position manages the full recruitment lifecycle – from job posting to onboarding, promoting the bank as an employer of choice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Creates and develops training programs and materials through research, utilizing subject matter experts as needed, design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Monitors Bank’s training systems and reviews to ensure compliance and follow up to ensure training is completed.
  • Coordinates and provides engaging new hire orientation program which is crucial for building a strong workplace culture and supporting new employees’ integration.
  • Maintain training records with hires and terms and set up new associates with various platforms.
  • Organize and implement supervisor and associate engagement surveys, compile data, present results and work with senior management to address deficiencies identified.
  • Research, create and update courses and purchase materials and organize meetings to support development and growth including, but not limited to:
    • Annual Compliance Training
    • Emerging Leaders
    • Emerging Banking Professional
    • Navigator Buddy Program
    • Supervisor Training / Handbook
    • Hire for Fit and Coaching with Criteria assessments
    • Deliver the “WOW” Experience

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Responsibilities:

  • Post and maintain requisitions for both internal and external opportunities within the bank.
  • Track and maintain requisition records within the HRIS system.
  • Build talent networks to find qualified candidates.
  • Work with HR specialist to ensure all requisitions have an accurate and current job description to capture the correct requirements, responsibilities, and skills for each posted position.
  • Coordinate interviews, provide professional communications to candidates and ensure applicant records are maintained.
  • Follow up with supervisors and managers regarding candidate’s status and interview notes if not provided.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Build relationships with internal departments and external organizations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot training systems and programs and assign and assist users in the various platforms.
  • Organize and maintain Job Shadowing and Mentoring Program.
  • Work on special projects and develop/identify one-time training courses as needed.
  • Work with the VP HR Manager on tasks and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field plus 1 year of prior banking and recruiting experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of previous talent development or learning and development experience required.
  • Understanding of learning methods and ability to adapt them to enable optimal success.
  • Strong human relations, communication, leadership and analytical skills.
  • Requires personality to communicate with internal customers as well as the public and be courteous and friendly and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of Canva and Articulate preferred.
