Cornerstone Brands has created the new role of Partner, CBI Retail Store Operations Learning & Development. This role will create, develop, and implement compelling retail store training programs for our Frontgate, Ballard Designs, Grandin Road, and Garnet Hill premium lifestyle brands, and related cross-brand programs. This newly created role will report to the Director, Cornerstone Brands Retail Store Operations. The role requires an initiative-taking, highly organized person, with great attention to detail and loves working with multiple brands in a fast-paced environment. You will be a part of driving profitable revenue growth across all Cornerstone Brand banners and selling channels.
Your Impact
- Training Development & Execution: Design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer service that connects to the overall retail strategy, key performance indicators and financial results for each brand. Develop training materials, including manuals, videos, and presentations. Create & manage “Learning Labs,” e-learning modules, for corporate SharePoint websites supporting all brands. Deliver instructor-led learning content, in-person or virtually, in a compelling and encouraging manner. Support and training for New Store Openings and Team Member Onboarding. Review existing training programs, recommending/implementing updates, or new material to improve engagement, learning, and retention, but keeping the identity of each brand. Develop strong relationships with each brand's retail leaders and retail operations teams to identify their needs, collaborate, and create workplans for implementation. Collaborate, as needed, with Cornerstone Brands Office of Change Management & Training, Retail Human Resources, and Customer Service & Experience teams. Ensure clear, effective, and timely communication on all retail learning and development programs. Report on the impact of created training programs.
- Materials Development: Lead the design, formatting, and editing of Learning materials. Elevate new and existing retail learning materials through design and visual presentation. Identify industry trends for new processes, best practices, and tools.
What You Bring
- Required 5+ years of either Learning & Development or Training & Communications experience, ideally in a multi-channel retail store or corporate retail environment.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
- Degree in adult education, communications, business, or another related field.
- Proven ability to create effective partnerships with both retail field and corporate partners.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Teams, WorkDay, SharePoint, Adobe Suite, and various levels of technology.
- Excellent communications, organizational, follow-up and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple objectives simultaneously.
- Curious and open to adopting new ways of thinking and eager to learn new skills.
- 50% - 60% travel required.
