Our fabulous #TeamLinkwood in Irvine are on the lookout for an understanding and patient new colleague with a good sense of humour to join them on a permanent part‑time (30 hours per week) basis.
The Role
Our small, friendly and dedicated team provides one‑to‑one support for a gentleman who has learning and physical disabilities and is non‑verbal. Your main aim will be to support this gentleman maintain his own tenancy and assist with all aspects of his daily living, including meal planning, cooking, medication, household tasks, finances and personal care. This gentleman’s life line is his mobility car, so we are looking for someone who has a full, clean manual driving licence with at least one year of experience on the roads. Most days you will find yourself out for drives as the gentleman loves people watching and exploring new places. He also really enjoys a variety of sensory activities—including going to the local disco every Sunday.
About You
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and will give you all the training you need. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ Level (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees.
What we need you to bring:
- A caring and compassionate attitude and approach
- The ability to work well in a team and on your own initiative
- Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
- Great communication skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Confidence in the use of computers
- A full driving licence with a minimum of one year’s experience on the roads
Shift Patterns
Shift patterns fall into day (08:45 – 21:00 hours) and waking night (20:45 – 09:00 hours) shifts. Waking nights are worked on a rotational basis and are paid at your normal hourly rate, plus an additional payment per night.
