Calling all night owls! We have a great opportunity for you! Our amazing #TeamWaterfront in Garelochhead are on the lookout for a caring, understanding and patient colleague to join them as a Support Practitioner on a permanent part-time (20 hours) basis.

The Role

Based in Garelochhead, you will become part of a team who supports individuals with various support needs to live in their own homes within the same complex. As part of our Waking Night team, your main aim will be to ensure that the individuals we support have access to support and assistance during the night if needed. In addition to providing support, your responsibilities will include maintaining a high level of cleanliness, ironing, health & safety checks, managing finances and administrative support.

Our picturesque Waterfront service is a specialist housing complex for individuals with autism and other complex support needs. Our service comprises of five self-contained flats and other shared accommodation and is home to 8 people.

About You

You don’t need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills and will give you all the training you’ll need if you’re successful. We’ll even put you through your SVQ qualification too!

Shift Patterns

As we’re dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual, your shift pattern would be a total of 11 shifts throughout the month between the hours of 2150-0800 hours and will include weekend working on a rotational basis.

Although this is a waking night post, we will need you to have flexibility to attend mandatory training during the day and work some day shifts in order to maintain and develop relationships with the people we support. However, we will give you advanced notice of the dates and times.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months outwith the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
