Our amazing #TeamDonohoe are on the lookout for a fun and caring individual who has great banter and loves a good sing along to join them as a Support Practitioner in Bishopbriggs.
We recruit on values and transferable skills, so you don\'t need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We have our own Training Academy that will give you all the skills you\'ll need; we\'ll even fund your SVQ/SCQF qualifications and your yearly SSSC fee!
The Role
You will join a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 4 individuals with learning disabilities and other complex support needs, including physical disabilities.
As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting these individuals with daily living activities such as cooking, personal care, meal preparation, administering medication, and managing personal finances. You will support them in community outings, including health appointments, and take part in planning and delivering person-centred care. You will encourage and support the individuals to express their views and wishes, aiming to help them live fulfilling and valued lives, achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
To be a great Support Practitioner, you should have:

Shift Patterns
Our team provides tailored 2:1 support 24/7, including early shifts, back shifts, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends, and public holidays. Shifts start at 8am, end at 10pm, with sleepovers and waking nights from 10pm to 8am.

Shift Details
The service operates as a sleepover service. Shifts are from 10am to 2pm the following day (Monday-Friday) and 10am to 10am on weekends. Our experienced team has long-standing relationships with the individuals supported, ensuring a supportive environment for new staff.

Successful candidates will need to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare, with support from our Training Academy.
Please note: If you\'ve spent over 12 months outside the UK (excluding certain countries) in the last 10 years after turning 18, you\'ll need to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks.
If hired, you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months and meet requirements for the use of the supported individual\'s mobility car.
