Overview
We\\\βre now on the look out for our new future stars, so if you\\\βre looking for a new job that will bring satisfaction like no other, look no further as we have some great opportunities to join our fantastic #TeamDrum in Dunfermline as Support Practitioners on a part-time (16, 24 or 30 hours per week), permanent basis.
The great thing about this job is that no two days are ever the same. You\\\βll become part of a friendly, supportive team who support four amazing ladies who have profound and complex needs. Your base will be within the ladies\\\β fully adapted, purpose built home in Dunfermline, which is complete with ceiling hoists and adaptive technology.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of the ladies\\\β daily living, including going to appointments, meal preparation, finances and housework.
- Provide support with personal care for three ladies who use wheelchairs.
- Support the ladies, who are non-verbal and have limited communication, as you get to know them over time.
- Encourage the ladies to live a valued life, support a variety of experiences, and participate in planned activities at home (arts and crafts, alpaca visits, days out).
About You / Qualifications
- Passionate about making a difference to the lives of others with a bubbly and outgoing nature.
- Creative when planning activities.
- Full, clean manual UK driving licence is helpful (the ladies have their own mobility cars) but not required for the right candidate.
- No prior experience or specific qualifications are required to start; we recruit on values and transferable skills.
- We will pay you for your training and provide practical skills; we will fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees.

Shift patterns, pay and environment
Dedicated 24-hour support with shifts typically patterning between 07:00 and 22:00. Waking nights, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays form part of a rotating rota. Sleepovers are not included in contracted hours; an additional Β£100.80 is paid for each sleepover worked. Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus a supplement per waking night.

Requirements and compliance
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work toward an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. If you join, you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.
Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (with certain exceptions) within the last 10 years after turning 18, you may be required to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks.
