Overview

You will be joining a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 10 individuals within a twenty-four-hour housing support service in Bridgeton. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; with a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, cooking and helping them to take care of their home.

The ladies we support enjoy pamper sessions, nails, massages, going out for lunch, shopping, the ARC club and a weekly writing class. The gentlemen enjoy day trips to places like Dundee or Edinburgh, and they also attend parties and events within the local community.

You don’t need experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills. We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need. We’ll even fund your SVQ qualification too!

Shift Patterns

Our team provides support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, following a four-week rolling rota. If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to work a combination of longer and shorter day shifts and sleepovers. Our team has an assortment of shift patterns tailored to suit the needs of the people we support between 7am and 10pm (which includes a sleepover to the following day).

Sleepovers don’t form part of your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional payment for your sleepover work.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.
