Looking for a new job that actually feels rewarding? We're looking for new people to join our #TeamPollaine in Stonehaven on a part-time or full-time basis. We also have relief roles if you need something a bit more flexible.

You'll be joining a friendly, fun team who currently support one gentleman to live in his shared home. It's a really exciting time to come on board, as we'll soon be welcoming another gentleman into the home too.

Day to day you'll be helping with things like:

  • Cooking, shopping and housework
  • Managing money and medication
  • Personal care and daily routines
  • Getting out and about, enjoying hobbies and activities

Both gentlemen enjoy being part of their local community and enjoy things like technology, going for walks, day trips, games, cooking, baking and music. As one gentleman has his own Motability car and loves going for drives, it would be great if you hold a full UK, manual driving license, but it's not essential.

We're ideally looking for individuals with experience of autism along with an understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines. However, transferable skills are also important and you'll receive robust training and have a helpful team behind you to support you every step of the way. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need and we'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification, PVG and yearly SSSC registration fees!

All we'll need you to bring is:

  • A patient, caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Confidence in the use of computers

As we're dedicated to providing around the clock support tailored to the needs of each individual, this includes weekends and public holidays. At present, our typical shift patterns usually fall between the hours of 0800-2200 hours and will include weekends, public holidays and sleepovers on a rotational basis. Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you'll receive an additional sleepover payment of between £107.60 per night for each sleepover worked! As the new gentleman transitions into his new environment, waking nights may also be part of your rota on a rotational basis initially.

Just a heads up - there's very limited public transport links to the service, so you'll need to be confident getting to and from Stonehaven for your shifts if you're not a driver.

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
