The candidate will lead a team of Quality and Performance Inspectors to ensure both direct and contract labour are delivering all road works activities to the required standard and business level expectation.

- Support and manage the team of Inspectors, carrying out clegg, visual and core audits across Scotland
- Become Scotland’s subject matter expert (SME) for reinstatement materials and techniques, ensuring that best practices are rolled out across the business
- Ensure compliance with all New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA 91) legislation and Road Works codes of practice
- Ensure both direct and contract labour are delivering business expectations safely
- Collect visual and technical performance data
- Produce, deliver and maintain Road Works performance reports
What you will need
- A thorough understanding of Road Works standards and specifications; NRSWA (91), SROR, and Codes of Practice
- Appropriate Road Works and civils experience – a supervisor NRSWA (91) qualification is essential, or the ability to work towards this qualification
- Problem solving and influencing skills – encouraging colleagues to challenge established ways of working
- Promotion of new reinstatement techniques, materials, and existing good practice across Scotland
- Ability to network internally with SGN Departments and externally with Local Authorities, contractors, other Utilities and the office of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner
- This position involves regular travel; therefore, a full valid driving license is essential.
