Job Description

Project Delivery Manager – Planned and Reactive Maintenance

6 Month Contract

Manchester area – Hybrid 3 days

About the role

This role will provide professional Operations project delivery management in driving a reduction in Cells out of Service (COOS) and a set numbers of expired planned and reactive pieces of work to conclusion.

This role will be principally accountable for two areas of Project Management. Firstly, managing the supply chain and other stakeholders to quickly recover maintenance and reactive work that has expired its SLA and is primarily focused on statutory needs of a telecom site and generic fault fix to recover the issues. The secondary element will be to drive fault fix on the network to reduce the cells out of service (COOS) impacts. This will be done by delivering site related work including driving issues in the area of access, legal process and estates blockers to improve the outage time.

The role holder will review, and technically and structurally understand the programme of works, and interpret the data into meaningful actions for the supply chain.

All physical work shall be managed in accordance with CDM regulations and best practice, as well as in accordance with the agreed timescales so there is little or no impact on our customers’ networks services. Safe working shall be at the forefront of all on-site activities and role governance at site level is pivotal.

The role holder will directly manage a supplier base in accordance with the contract framework and performance requirements so that the key project objectives are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality level Cornerstone expects.

Additionally, the role shall provide support to the Operations Project team as required to achieve Core Operation’s wider COOS objectives. This includes working across multiple projects, departments at any one time, and the delivery of Additional Services instructions as and when they are generated by customer demand.

  • Create and maintain project delivery plans that enable project progress to be measured and revised when needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Manage the impact of scope change within the project and alter project plans accordingly in respect of timescales, costs and quality while ensuring the impacts are clearly understood and sanctioned by the key project stakeholders

Project Governance & Control

  • Operate effective project governance with multiple suppliers via the use of established processes such as progress review meetings, 121’s and conference calls to regularly govern project issues.
  • Host regular meetings with Cornerstone teams so that risk is identified, understood, documented and the appropriate treatment/mitigation plans are agreed collectively.
  • Proactively unpick and record all project risks, issues and dependencies. Manage strategies, mitigation and resolutions, including, where necessary, escalate to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Understand the cost of improving each asset and evaluate whether investing in improvement work will have a positive impact on the business. Escalate excessive costs to the Operations Manager and Head of Operations for further discussion and approval to proceed.
  • Highlight budget required to deliver the project and the remedial costs and work with stakeholders to ensure these costs are recoverable.
  • Take the initiative by building on and positively evolving existing processes to develop efficiencies and improve project controls.

Experience/Skillset

  • Experience of running projects in a range of different and frequently changing environments delivering both ‘business change’ and ‘technical /infrastructure’ type projects that includes leading matrix and multi-disciplined teams.
  • Experience of working within a telecom Design & Build environment, including hand-on Build, Design or Structural experience.
