Here’s how you will contribute…
Responsibilities:- Working as part of the Operations, Stores and Logistics Team supporting a busy operational depot
- Taking delivery of materials, plant and equipment (forklift training will be required if needed)
- Operating safely within stores
- Taking responsibility for waste streams at the depot
- Keeping stores tidy and organised
- Assisting site operations technicians with tooling requirements and provision of lifting equipment
- A flexible attitude to work, and willingness to take on new skills in order to develop a career in the gas industry
- The role is based on an initial 12 month contract, though SGN’s client is looking to increase the Storekeeping resources as workload across their sites increase, so there is potential for this role to become a full time position
- Communicative and inter‑personal skills, including the ability to converse with members of the public
- Some experience or aptitude in the use of smartphones/tablets/computers will be required
- Some knowledge of the gas industry would be an advantage but not essential
- Able to arrange travel to and from the depot
- Preferred to have a forklift licence, but not essential as training can be provided
- The successful candidate would ideally have knowledge of an operations environment in terms of knowing what is required for different jobs
