We are looking for a senior and tenured datacoms and voice network engineer who will manage the SGN IT Network, so it is efficient, error and incident free and provides the business with the scale and resilience needed.

- Collaborating with SGN IT Architects at all levels, including roadmaps, major changes, and strategic direction
- Managing suppliers to ensure excellence in delivery, supply, and ongoing support
- Advising business and IT teams on appropriate use of IT network solutions
- Acting as the primary contact for network deployments and changes
- Serving as the main point of contact for IT network vendors
- Supporting and coaching junior technical staff (non-direct reports)
- Working with the IT Support organisation to ensure incident, change, and request processes are efficient and effective
- Providing guidance to the business on network resilience options
- Producing technical notes for the TDA to describe incremental changes to network and security systems
- Reviewing and approving network-related requests and changes
- Collaborating with IT and procurement teams to manage and reduce costs related to networks, professional services, and voice solutions
What you will need
- 10 years’ experience working in a Datacoms and Firewall Network role including Network Management, configuration, provisioning, and incident management processes
- Experience managing third party vendors in Telecoms, Security (Firewall and SSE) and professional services
- Experience of working for Telecoms company or ISP or large Enterprise in similar role
- Excellent ability to engage with Stakeholders at various levels and build a strong network within SGN, and with Third Party resources.
