About The Role
Cornerstone Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate HR Assistant to join our award-winning team at Kitnocks House. Kitnocks House is a 63-bed service providing high-quality care across four specialized units, supporting residents with complex needs while ensuring a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach emphasizes individualized care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated Overall Good by CQC.

We are looking for a 6-month fixed-term HR Assistant to support the service with HR administration and employee-related matters. Working with the HR team, you will manage records, process monthly metrics, and maintain accurate employee HR files.

What will you be doing?

  • Inputting absence details from return-to-work forms and fit notes, ensuring information is passed to payroll.
  • Producing reference letters for leavers when required.
  • Generating monthly HR metrics.
  • Inducting new starters.
  • Managing the leavers process, including resignation acknowledgment letters.
  • Issuing ID cards.
  • Ensuring Buddy paperwork is issued and returned.
  • Handling probation period forms at 1, 3, and 6 months, ensuring their completion.
  • Collaborating with other HR Assistants to cover each other\’s duties and share knowledge.
  • Producing employment letters and amendments to employment terms using templates.
  • Maintaining HR staff files and ensuring records are up-to-date and properly filed.
  • Updating the HR database with absence, contract changes, new starters, and leavers.
  • Keeping Excel spreadsheets current (e.g., Nurse PINS, staff audits).
  • Performing daily reconciliations.
  • Supporting project work as needed.
  • Keeping all filing updated.
  • Attending weekly HR meetings via Teams.
  • Promoting health & safety and safe working practices.
  • Developing a positive public profile for the service through good communication and professional staff representation.
  • Performing any other duties as directed by the Head of HR.

What hours will you work?

Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 (40 hours per week).

What experience do you need?

  • Minimum Level 3 CIPD qualification in HR (Essential)
  • At least 12 months UK experience in an HR Assistant role or higher
  • Healthcare experience (Desirable)
  • Good general education

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT skills

About The Company

Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviors related to complex neurodegenerative and mental health conditions. Residents often have neurological degenerative conditions like Dementia combined with mental health issues, making them unsuitable for standard dementia or elderly residential care homes. We operate four services in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Bristol, and Mytchett.
